To help you make better decisions, take time to understand both the opportunities and risks of any investment you’re considering. Here are 5 questions to ask before you invest!

The British Design Evergreen SEIS & EIS Fund is an evergreen fund that leverages the UK’s position as one of the pre-eminent product design centres in Europe along with the lack of dedicated VC/seed investors in this sector in order to invest in purpose-led early-stage product design and manufacturing businesses. The Fund works with extraordinary entrepreneurs and their teams to support the best cultures, work ethics, and help create thriving stand-out companies. Ultimately, the Fund’s mission is to invest in and rapidly scale purpose-led product and engineering start-ups, helping them grow and taking them to the next level of their development.

The Fund is driven by a team with strong design and manufacturing experience and maintains close partnerships and relationships with design and engineering institutions and accelerators such as the Royal Academy of Engineering and Imperial College London along with design agencies and innovation hubs across the UK. Through these initiatives, as well as the Fund’s wider network and ongoing marketing activities, the Fund has access to a selection of investment opportunities in the product design and manufacturing sector for the Fund to potentially invest in.

SEIS & EIS tax incentives
The companies the fund invest in are expected to be SEIS-EIS qualifying, which makes The British Design Evergreen SEIS & EIS Fund SEIS-EIS suitable for qualifying clients who would potentially benefit from the following tax reliefs:
  • Up to 50% income tax relief (30% for EIS)
  • Tax-free investment growth
  • Capital gains deferral (or 50% capital gains reinvestment relief for SEIS)
  • Inheritance tax relief
  • Loss relief
Please note: SEIS-EIS tax reliefs are only made available to investors because of the higher risks associated with investing in early-stage companies. Also, the availability of tax reliefs will depend on the investor's individual circumstances, and may be subject to change in the future. In addition, the availability of any tax relief depends on the investee companies maintaining their qualifying status.
